BLUE LIGHT THERAPY

Blue Light Therapy helps dermatologists fight off skin cancer in patients with actinic keratoses. These bumps can range from a small pinhead to one inch and is primarily found in sun-exposed areas of the face and body. If left untreated, it is estimated that around 10% of these lesions may evolve into a type of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. This therapy works utilizing a light-sensitizing chemical solution to the skin area that needs treatment and then exposing the area to blue light. The photosensitive chemicals that have been absorbed into the skin fight and kill off potentially cancerous skin cells.
